Obituary for Lester R. Barycki

Lester Robert Barycki, age 65, of Spring Grove, who's soul has been given solace with God and His heavenly angels peacefully on December 11, 2020. He was born on June 5, 1955 in Chicago to Edward and Irene (Dobrowolski) Barycki.

Lester’s life cannot be summed up in a few words. He was a hardworking, family man; providing an exceptional life for his wife and children. His family absolutely loved him with all their hearts, minds, and souls; " He is us, who we are, who we strive to be like."

Lester married Diane (Dedo) on May 12, 1979 in Chicago. There is not a man on this earth who loved his wife like he loved her. Their marriage was full of love and laughter; a partnership filled with dedication, built on a foundation with the love of God. Their wedding photo has always been a favorite as it looks like they are one person; and they truly were.

Together in 1980, they started their family with the addition of their baby boy, Robert Michael. He is just like dad and has always looked up to him in every aspect of life. Lester loved attending all of Bobby's events; from BMX bike racing to snowmobiling. He stood by him in every adventure. In 1982, brought the addition of daughter, Deborah Marie. Lester was always impressed by her intelligence and proud of her accomplishments. No other love in the world was like the love he had for his little girl; that was proven again in 1984, with the birth of Cynthia Marie. Lester no doubt could be found sitting on the high school bleachers at every game, traveling straight from work, to watch her play.

On weekends, he could be found boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.
Boating was his relaxation and always included his favorite music, which always played a big part in his heart. He often danced with his sweetheart, twirling, flipping or gently singing in her ear always brought him great joy. He enjoyed all of the Chicago sports teams and especially enjoyed watching the Bears games. His kind, caring and tender-heart he wore on his sleeve even during his illness and that was very apparent to all his caregivers. His friendly demeanor touched all those he came in contact with and he will forever be remembered for
this quality and for making those he encountered feel on top of the world.
Family group texting became routine over his hospital stay. He never missed an opportunity to share his deep love for his family, share stories about his life and share so many treasured pictures stored on his phone. His family will hold fast to these and all the memories they shared as a family. His hand was in Diane's before taking the hand of God and together they look forward to when they are all together again.
He hoped for the day his grandchildren might move north and enjoy the life he wanted to give them. They affectionally called him "Poppy"; the love they had for each other was like no other.

He recently spoke of his passing and said, "that the cool part of himself will be still here and just his body will not be." The day after his passing, Bobby asked Lester to let it snow and it did! A sure sign that he will continue protect us just as he did when the “cool part” of himself was here. His family daily will honor him as he honored them every day. Heaven received the best angel. Until we meet again, may God Bless him always as the family love will continue forever.
