Obituary for Barney Wilson

He was a dreamer, musician, painter, a man who loved working with his hands. A devout and diligent servant of the lord. Always being the loudest and most energetic in the room.
Never afraid to speak what was in his heart and mind. He loved gushing to perfect strangers about his family and how proud he was of his kids.
There weren’t many days he wasn’t listening and grooving to smooth jazz and Gino Vanelli. Spending his down time watching Star Trek. He gave hands on teachings to his kids so that they could work on their own.
He loved his sherbet ice cream, circus peanuts candy, collard greens and sausage sandwiches. He loved with his whole heart, even when his own struggles took a hold.
Barney stepped in as a father figure without even knowing the life he impacted. A friendship that had flourished into a bonding love.
He was our dad, a loving husband, goofy papa, caring uncle and brother and anything else anyone needed.

You will be forever missed but never forgotten.

In view of the shelter in place order during the COVID-19 pandemic, burial will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. The family is planning on a Celebration of Barney's life later this year.
